About Skylands Stadium

Skylands Stadium is located in the heart of Sussex County in Frankford Township, (Augusta) New Jersey. Well-situated in the heart of Sussex County, just off of the famous Ross’s Corner, where Routes 15, 565, and 206 meet. Formerly occupied by the MLB affiliate “New Jersey Cardinals” who played there from 1994 to 2005, its most recent occupant was the Sussex Skyhawks Baseball Team who concluded play in 2010.

Built in 1994, grand renovations began this past year. The Stadium has all the amenities of a big time stadium while featuring a “Field Of Dreams” atmosphere. The park is designed to look a little bit like a farm complex from the outside. Augusta has long been the home of many dairy farms and the Stadium reflects its “Farm and Barn” motif in a very friendly family setting.

Skylands Stadium LLC Management is a family-owned and operated company with extensive experience operating large-scale events. The purchase of Skylands Stadium includes the 4,200-seat ballpark, a 16,000-square foot all-purpose building and the surrounding 28 acres. The new management is in discussions to bring baseball back to the stadium by 2015.

Extensive renovations are nearly completed. Stadium makeover consists of upgrades to all concessions, rest room facilities and seating area, as well as the playing field. A new 5000 sq. ft. pavilion has been erected down the first base line and a club house and locker rooms have been completely renovated. Additionally an 18,000 sq. ft. exhibit hall will be completed this fall; an in-house catering facility will be completed by spring 2015. Stay tuned for more to come!
